Give me a woman prime minister
or don't bother me about voting
Give me a church where God is a woman
or don't ask me about my praying
Make space for the likes of me and my children
among the blessed and the beloved,
It is my right to be at home in this land.

Give me the voices of resistance
when they lie about the innocents,
Give me the strength to own my body
when they seek to use it for hatred,
Make way for end of the exile
for all our castaway souls,
It is my right to be at home in this land.

Love me like I'm beautiful
or don't come knocking after midnight,
See me in every honest nakedness
My scars are silver rivers in the moonlight,
Call my name Divine Woman and be my equal
right now in this dark season,
It is my right to be at home in this land.

Make peace with the Earth our Mother,
then you will know me for your sister,
Make love from the blood of the heart-wound,
then we can get on with getting together,
Say your true and chosen name aloud
so that silence may never name you,
It is our right to be at home in this land.

Lynn, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog, your poetry, your writings. Thank you for all you do. I will be including a link to your blog in an online publication I hope to have uploaded in early January. Your poetry has so inspired and encouraged me today-- thank you again.
