Call for Action on International Women's Day

International Women's Day 2007At the time of this writing a Nassau family is grieving the killing of an innocent young mother, reportedly murdered by her spouse. I think about her orphaned infant child left behind, the one whose story will never make it into the newspapers or the tabloid tv shows. I think about this young woman, forever denied her fundamental human right to "a life of dignity and freedom." In honour of her life then, I wish to mark International Women's Day by joining in the call to demand an end to impunity for violence against women and girls. Let there be justice in her name.
